DOCUMENTATION WRITER
MicroStrain is seeking a Documentation Writer to be a key player in delivering value and taking responsibility of critical
parts of our product release cycle. You will have the opportunity to work on digital sensing products, including wireless
and energy harvesting capabilities. Our products are used in many applications, including aerospace, automotive, civil
engineering, and medical fields – and they’re constantly evolving to take advantage of new technologies and provide
additional functionality. We’re searching for a writer who enjoys working with a variety of applications and wants to
take the lead in researching new technologies to use for documentation. This is a great opportunity to learn and work in
a flexible environment and utilize your technical writing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with product development and support to create and update print and on-line end-user documentation for sensor, wireless
data acquisition systems and related software, including data sheets, user guides, procedures, application notes, tutorials, references,
and glossaries.
- From draft material, work with the development team to update and edit technical system documentation such as
installation procedures, database administration guides, customization guides, business logic integration guides, and
release notes.
- Create screen shots, screen recording videos, and Visio diagrams to support online documentation.
- Work with training staff to develop training course content and supporting sample data.
- Provide feedback on usability and user interface design.
- Additional responsibilities include using single-source technology to generate printed material from an online
source and working with a localization team to translate the documentation set into an entire array of foreign languages.
Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Able to grasp complex software
- Familiar with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, HTML, Madcap Flare, RoboHelp a plus
- Knowledge of basic business operations
- Self-starter, independent worker
- Experience managing a large documentation set
- Able to prioritize assignments while working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience as a technical writer

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Responsibilities:
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for electronic hardware aspects of new product development programs, and for
providing sustaining engineering support for existing product lines. Major focus of activities will be:
- Design and develop electronic hardware for sensor instrumentation and embedded microprocessor and DSP platforms
- Writing embedded firmware in C for various microcontroller and DSP platforms
- Specify and select electrical/electro-mechanical system components and vendors, i.e. electronics components, sensors, etc.
- Support electronics assembly contract manufacturers
- Electronics assembly, subsystem and system test engineering
Education and Experience:
BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent training. Other desired experience includes:
- PIC microcontroller embedded systems
- Experience with display components
- Analog and digital printed circuit board layout techniques
- Knowledge of electronics assembly manufacturing
- Knowledge of 'C' for embedded systems and Assembly programming language
- Working knowledge of OrCAD schematic capture and some PCB layout package (Protel preferred)
- Knowledge of PC based programming languages such as Visual C++ and Visual Basic
- Technical hands on abilities including; soldering, assembly, circuit debugging and other "technical" tasks

CAD Operator
Responsibilities:
MicroStrain® is seeking a CAD Operator to work with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers to create both 3D models and 2D drawings of our products.
You will have the opportunity to work with multiple machinists and implement your own design features.
- Work with all engineers, sales people, and customer support technicians to provide them with any drawings or designs they need.
- Work with local machine shops to have your drawings built according to your specifications.
- Create multiple patent drawings as instructed by design engineers.
- Manage part numbers and ECO’s that relate to your drawings.
- Send drawings out for quote and refine design for manufacturability.
Education and Experience:
Other desired experience includes:
- 2 year mechanical degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient with AutoDesk Inventor or equivalent 3D modeling software.
- Experience with ANSYS DesignSpace beneficial.
- Understand how to use geometric tolerances.
- Familiar with Outlook, Word, and Illustrator.
- Experience using a manual lathe and mill is helpful.
- Self-starter, independent worker.

Administrative Assistant/Shipping Clerk
Responsibilities:
MicroStrain® has an immediate opening for an Administrative Assistant/ Shipping
Clerk. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and UPS Worldship is important.
Major focus of activities will be:
- Process all shipments.
- Answer Phones.
- Retrieve mail and distribute.
- General Administrative Assistant duties.
Education and Experience:

- 3+ years in a Manufacturing/Business environment.
