LORD MicroStrain® today introduced MathEngine®, an integrated analytics environment for cloud-based sensor data, and wins Best of Sensors Expo Innovation Award.

MathEngine is embedded in SensorCloud™, LORD MicroStrain’s cloud-based data aggregation, storage, and visualization platform. Elastic processing capabilities allow users to quickly derive custom sensing channels based on algorithms.

MathEngine streamlines and automates health, usage, and condition monitoring for remote sensor networks. Alerting and reporting toolkits support SMS and email messaging for actionable notifications.

Now users can schedule and run custom scripts to distill big sensor data, pull web-based data at custom intervals, and perform advanced data processing algorithms for generating indicator metrics such as vibration frequencies, watt-hours, metal fatigue, or bearing failure.

“MathEngine excels in settings where users are faced with the need to quickly and automatically reduce big sensor data to actionable information,” says Justin Bessette, LORD MicroStrain’s Manager of Software. “Smart sensor data processing can make the difference between unscheduled and predictive maintenance. For example, on earth moving equipment, MathEngine can classify and categorize peak strain values of wireless strain sensors embedded in off-highway trucks. The MathEngine service generates a histogram of structural load over time and automated reports alert fleet maintainers when cumulative strain reaches threshold levels allowing vehicle/part maintenance to be executed before a failure occurs. We’re pleased to provide the next generation of smart sensing systems and honored to be a 2013 recipient of the Best of Sensors Expo Silver Innovation Award.”
