3DM-DH3 for Downhole Applications

3DM-DH3 Downhole

Precise borehole surveying is critical to ensure accurate drilling. Compromising directional evaluation undermines the integrity and efficiency of drill operations. Yet, existing drill path surveying instruments continue to face cost and size limitations.

MicroStrain's innovative downhole sensing instruments provide cost-effective and easy-to-use surveying capabilities to system integrators.  Utilizing rugged MEMS sensors, MicroStrain's downholeinertial products deliver high accuracy inclination and precision magnetic azimuth measurements in a small 0.8 inch diameter package. The 3DM-DH3™ is an open protocol OEM solution engineered to withstand the high temperatures and harsh conditions of deep-hole drilling. Factory calibrated over the full operational temperature range from -40 ˚C to 125 ˚C, the 3DM-DH3™ is delivered ready for immediate deployment. RS-422 connectivity allows drill string tools to incorporate continuous, real time orientation sensing as well as autonomous datalogging. As a result, our accurate borehole angular orientation measurements allow oil, gas and mineral drill operators to maximize the efficiency and uptime of their drilling operations.
