A New Look for LORD MicroStrain 

 

 

LORD MicroStrain LogoLORD MicroStrain Sensing Systems released its new logo. The new LORD MicroStrain brand links MicroStrain with LORD Corporation, while maintaining the same overall look of its website as well as the performance and backwards compatibility of its sensing systems.

 

  
 

SensorCloud: View and Analyze Terabytes of Sensor Data In Seconds

SensorCloud was used to rapidly plot, 

navigate, and extract key performance indicators on 100 billion points of time synchronized vibration data. 

 

The 1 terabyte dataset was composed of 100kHz machine vibration taken in 1 second bursts every ten minutes and simulated over 19 years.

Tech Tips and Tricks: Using u-blox Software with 3DM-GX3®-35 and 3DM-GX3®-45

This month Barry explains using u-blox Software with 3DM-GX3-35 and 3DM-GX3-45:

 

Among many other features, the LORD MicroStrain®  
3DM-GX3®-35Miniature Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) with GPS and the 3DM-GX3®-45 Miniature GPS-Aided Inertial Navigation System (GPS/INS) allow the user to operate the GX3 in 

 GPS Direct Mode.  The GX3 contains an on-board GPS receiver chip, and when in GPS Direct Mode, the GX3 can be manipulated directly with the software developed for the GPS chip by its manufacturer.  This functionality allows the user to directly configure the GPS, to exploit all of its functionality, to continuously output NMEA 'sentences' containing GPS position data, etc.  This technical note assumes the user has familiarity with the 3DM-GX3® and MIP Monitor software.

This month Andrew explains Using IP and NEMA Rated Enclosures for Wireless Nodes:

 

Many applications require that the remote wireless node be protected from the elements by housing it within an IP rated and/or NEMA rated enclosure. LORD MicroStrain® provides specific IP and NEMA rated enclosures as an option for several of its wireless nodes. These IP and NEMA rated enclosures also allow for additional external battery capacity if needed. This technical note describes these enclosures and their use.
